The Depression
changed the lives of millions, uprooting many from their homes and separating
families. However, many Americans barely noticed a difference, Those already
poor had little to lose, while some people remained wealthy, having not relied
heavily on stocks. Meanwhile, many people had jobs producing basic goods and
services that were still in demand.
